This article is product of an investigation that was hold approximately during five years ant that includes the revision of the totality of the archives protected by the Francisco Ferrer I. Guard Foundation. What it describes is the experience of the Modern School, considering its relations with diverse anarchist theories, practices, teachers, conferences and publications. Also, it analyses the diffusion of the principles and proposals of the Modern School beyond the historical borders of the context in which it arose and its influence in a series of educative projects among which the rationalist school of Yucatan is included.
