Abstract

This essay is about de history of schooling from the point of view of historiography and the so-called cultural turn. It explores the decodification of the concept “grammar of schooling” through an analysis of the empiric culture of the school and an orientation to ethnographic and anthropologic codes. This focus is complemented by a hermeneutic approach based on the semiology of the shared ethno-historic records (verbal, iconic, and objective), in relation to the way of materialization of the representations of scholarly culture. The last goal of it will be the construction of an interpretative community on which the historic education of the subjects is sustained.
