In this article, it is compared the perspective of the Mexican micro-history, proposed by Luis González y González, with the complex and subtle view of the Italian micro-history. After displaying the reason why Mexican microhistory is nothing but a new name given to the antiquated and narrow local history, the present text explains the central point of the project of the Italian micro-history, the paradigm of changing in the scale of historical analysis. The later, full of interesting consequences and with many a theoretical and historiographical implication, which thoroughly enriches the “labour of the historian”.
