Abstract

The construction of the teacher’s professional identity is a historical process in which both political and social issues converge; we can also say that it is built from the interaction of the subject with his or her sociocultural environment and is configured in spaces such as the school and the educational community. Therefore, we can say that it is important for teachers to know and recognize the history that has led teachers to be what they are today, it is also relevant to know the histories of the institutions in which they have been formed, as this fact can allow them to expand their knowledge and understand the mission of the Mexican Teacher Training Colleges, a vision that will be part of their work as trainers of future citizens.
